Scholarship Opportunities

The Dallas Dressage Club (DDC) is committed to supporting the growth of our riders, trainers, and future judges. We are proud to offer several scholarship categories to help offset the costs of clinics, symposia, and professional development.

Application Windows

We accept applications twice a year. Mark your calendars:

  • Spring Session: April 1st – May 31st (Notifications in June)
  • Fall Session: September 1st – October 31st (Notifications in November)

Available Scholarships

Spring Session (April 1 – May 31)

  • Open Riders/Trainers: One $500 scholarship for an educational clinic or opportunity.
  • Adult Amateurs: One $500 scholarship for an educational clinic or opportunity.
  • Junior/Young Riders: One $500 scholarship for an educational clinic or opportunity.

“L” Program: One $500 scholarship for anyone attending, auditing, or participating in the USDF “L” Judges Program.

 

Fall Session (September 1 – October 31)

  • Open Riders/Trainers: One $1,500 scholarship toward attending the annual National Trainers Conference (Florida or California).
  • Adult Amateurs: One $500 scholarship for an educational clinic or opportunity.
  • Junior/Young Riders: One $500 scholarship for the Region 9 FEI Youth Clinic. (Note: If multiple members are accepted, the fund may be divided among applicants.
  • “L” Program: One $500 scholarship for the USDF “L” Judges Program.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for a DDC scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Membership: Must be a current member in good standing of the Dallas Dressage Club.
  2. Frequency: Must not have received a DDC scholarship within the last two (2) years.
  3. Volunteer Service: * Applicants must have completed a minimum of 4 volunteer hours for the DDC before applying.
    • Alternatively, you may apply and commit to completing the 4 hours before funds are disbursed.
    • Note: Preference is given to those who have already completed their hours.

Ways to Volunteer:

  • Show Support: Scribe, Runner, Ring Steward, or Awards Table.
  • Events: Assist with educational programs or fundraising efforts.
  • Youth: Juniors/Young Riders may also submit hours served for the Region 9 Team.
